How good is your advertising?? On page one of Google yet?

How many of you truly believe that the more expensive Advertising is then the better it is going to be??  Perhaps you feel that the more a website costs you the better it will function on Google. Does this mean that you would be prepared to pay thousands for a website as you believe this will get you up on page one of Google – other than paying for it of course?

Unfortunately I really believe many of you are in for a shock.  There are many very good web designers out there, and if you are one of them then I apologise if you feel offended, but many are good at one thing, and one thing only, and that is creating the website, making it look good and function well within the site.  After that the majority have not got a clue about Search Engine Optimization and how to go about it.  This is actually rather sad as it should all hang together from the way the site is made so that its effect on all search engines is optimal.

This is unfortunately words from experience of close friends of mine.   A very expensive website, niche market and no closer than page six on google – what is wrong.  Honestly?  The way the website was built – no thought about optimizing it, or perhaps knowledge about how to optimize it for google and all of the search engines during its creation. Of course the perfect solution is throw money at it – but even with money being thrown at it the results were not as they should have been.

Be very careful when choosing someone to build you a website, take a look at what they have done and where these sites – especially sites in a competitive market – are, how many page ones on google, how relevant are the keywords etc.

There is much to be gained with online advertising, especially when you have a particular logo and style of advertising, this in the long term offers a wide spectrum of recognition possibilities that people can relate to.  Imagine someone visits a website regularly, not necessarily for your product, but your logo and ad can be seen on the pages they visit, without even realising it the brain of this visitor has registered your ad – sometime in the future whenever they need your product or the likes of it their immediate reaction will be to go back to where it was – if you have invested in long term website advertising then this really will be very beneficial.

From my own previous experience of remembering having seen something in the newspaper and throwing it away weeks before, I know how frustrating it is when you cannot find it again.  If you are online regularly then it can only be of benefit.  Think about how many people are continually online, day in, day out, through work or social then it can only be of benefit to all businesses to have an online presence. Online you will be remembered!
